- The 'MgO' search string is associated with the GeoExploration application. This is the most often used configuration of the Bruker device in the IODP environment.
- At this time MUT supports only one 'Application' at a time. Switching applications requires changing the search string to accommodate processing for a different application.
- Note that vendor application defaults cause the TSV file to carry the same name as the 'Application'.
- The search string is simply an aid for the software to find the first column of data to be prepared for transfer to LIMS. The software assumes all subsequent columns carry content for LIMS. While this has been tested for the output of the GeoExploration application, it has not been vetted for all the applications that the Bruker device supports.

If the application of interest is not listed here, conduct a test so that a TSV file is generated for the application. Open that file with a text editor. Look for the element or simple compound that identifies the first column of data. That will become the search string that MUT requires to conduct its processing for that 'Application'.
