  1. Pipette 12.25 ml of Optima grade Hexanes (that is what we currently use as of X395C) into a 20 mL headspace vial.
  2. Cap the vial with a PTFE septum (cream-colored "shiny" side facing the vial) and a magnetic crimp cap.
  3. Using a 10 uL cemented needle syringe, add 2.5 µL of neat PFMD into the vial. Let the needle remain the vial for a few moments after the injection to ensure all PFMD from the needle tip has evaporated into the vial.
