To call out

dial 99 and wait ~10 seconds for a dial tone.  Dial 800-276-8915.  Do not use the phone numbers on the cards.  Follow the instructions below.

       To the U.S.

  1. All 979 area code numbers, and Toll-free area codes, are free.  However, if you are calling TAMU Campus, do not dial the area code (979).  Just dial the 7 digit number.  If calling toll free, do not dial the 1, just the 800 number.
  2. All other area codes will require a phone card.  Dial 9 (instead of the 1 indicated on the card).  Dial the 877****** number on the cardthe 800-276-8915.  Follow the prompt to enter the PIN #. Dial your Follow the prompt to make a call, then dial 1 + area code and + number.

       Internationally

  1. Follow the instructions on the card for dialing from the USA, except, you must dial 9 (instead of the 1 indicated on the card), then dial the 877****** number on the cardAll calls require a phone card.  Dial 800-276-8915 (no 1-).  Follow the prompt to enter the PIN #.  
  2. Dial your country code, area code and number.  If your country has a code for mobile numbers, like 080, only dial the last two digits, 80 instead of 080.

  1. Follow the prompt to make a call, then dial 011 + Country Code + City/Area Code + Number
  2. NOTE: if your country code is something like 0039, only dial 39, leave the zeros in the front, out.

To obtain a phone card, purchase a $10 or $20 card from the ALO Assistant Lab Officer (IODP Ship Store carries these).  Currently we sell zuzume phone cards.
